This week I was finally able to conduct my interview with Jason. However, it was also one of the most challenging weeks of the production so far. My wife's great grandmother passed away so we had to go to a funeral in Utah over the weekend which interrupted my shooting schedule and led to me not being able to help a classmate that I had previously told I would assist. Luckily Jason had asked me to interview him on Thursday, so I had one day to meet with him before I had to leave for the funeral. The biggest challenge that I faced this week was finding time to go through the footage and pull soundbites for my rough draft because I was traveling and attending the funeral luckily I had assistance from gene at the interview so that I was able to be efficient get in and out faster than I anticipated and my wife took some of the burden off of me by driving so that I could sift through footage on the drive back from Utah.
This week I also shot footage of myself for the introduction of the documentary it was hard to speak directly to a camera while in a room by myself I also did not have time to fully set up audio and lights the way that I wanted to but I but I needed to get something in the can for my introduction so that I would knew what direction to take going forward. This week has also seen the biggest improvement in my confidence with the FX3 of anytime through the production.
