During this week we studied the basics of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and landing page optimization. Because I worked at a marketing agency I pretty much knew all the material that we were taught, but it made me realize that I am not utilizing any of the knowledge and skills that I have so this week was significantly more important than I ever thought it would be. One thing I need to focus on is my landing page and the whole conversion process. At the moment I have the ad I am running going straight to my home page instead of a dedicated landing page specifically designed to give the person who clicked on the ad what they want and then show them how my product and service can improve their life.
As far as the SEO goes I have not focused on keywords or content creation hardly at all. I wrote a little bit of copy that was meant to have some keywords for my ad optimization score, but I was not thinking about SEO as I wrote. This week I will continue to work on creating a dedicated landing page and see how that affects ad performance.
