W07 Reflection: Google Ads & Keywords

By Braden Moser on February 19, 2022

This week we prepared to run an ad campaign to promote our websites which are all completed now. One of the things that we focused on was what makes a keyword a good keyword vs a bad keyword. For me the biggest thing I learned about keywords is that some keywords will be better at attracting customers who are ready to buy as opposed to attracting customers who are in the research stage of the customer journey. As I have thought about my website and the types of ads I want to show I have been thinking about the two main services which I will be offering. The first being a subscription date box which includes physical products that a couple can use for a great date night, the second is a subscription service to receive emails about date ideas each week. Because of this I think I will end up having two campaigns, each with a few ad groups but for now I will focus on the physical boxes.

For my boxes I have two ad groups in mind, one for people looking for a gift idea, and one for couples looking for a date night solution that makes it easy to have regular date nights. I'm excited to see which ad group is more effective.
