This week for me was more of a week of exploration. Because I have been doing web design and web development since I was about 14, I have had a lot of experience with WordPress and Bluehost. However, because of this I haven't learned a lot about many of the other solutions that are out there such as Shopify, or GoDaddy's platform. Part of the reason for this is because I know WordPress inside and out and I have loved Bluehost as a host because they have always been able to offer great customer support and accommodations for issues that have come up in the last few years that I've been with them.
I took this opportunity to compare what I have been using to what is out there with an open mind because I don't want to just continue to do what I always have simply because that's what I know. I want to continue to learn and develop and if there are better tools out there I am not afraid to start using them. However, in my research I found that every solution has advantages and disadvantages. Wherever there is a solution to a problem I have faced, there is a different problem that takes its place. There really is no best solution for these types of things, only the one that works best for you. Because I have so much experience with what I use and know how to overcome the common problems, I have decided to continue using Bluehost and WordPress. But this wasn't a waste of time because I have a newfound confidence in my decision to use these tools.
